Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our handcrafted Japanese cutlery and services.
What makes Karasu Knives different from standard kitchen knives?
Karasu Knives are forged from high-carbon Japanese steel using traditional techniques. Unlike mass-produced knives, ours offer superior edge retention, a thinner profile for precision slicing, and unique tsuchime (hammered) or damascus finishes.
How should I care for and maintain my high-carbon steel knife?
To prevent rust and maintain the edge, always hand wash and dry your knife immediately after use. Never put them in the dishwasher. We recommend applying a food-safe mineral oil to the blade periodically and sharpening with whetstones rather than honing rods.
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes, we ship our knives worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery times vary by destination, but most international orders arrive within 7-14 business days. Please note that customers are responsible for any local customs duties or taxes.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy for unused items in their original packaging. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact our support team to initiate a return. Due to hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on knives that show signs of use or sharpening.
Are your knives suitable for professional chefs or home cooks?
Our collection is designed for both. We offer robust workhorses for professional environments as well as specialized, delicate blades for home enthusiasts looking to elevate their culinary skills.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. We also offer flexible installment plans through Shop Pay and Klarna for larger purchases.
